Itasca Consulting Group is please to present a lecture on numerical modeling of masonry structures using 3DEC, distinct-element modeling (DEM) software for jointed and blocky material in 3D.

This seminar will provide a background about DEM software and review applications for it related to masonry structures such as columns, walls, arches and vaults, and complex architectural structures. The seminar will conclude with a questions and answers session. Topics will include rigid versus deformable blocks, contact models, quasi-static and dynamic analyses, pushover analyses, and meso-scale laboratory testing.
